MONEY RELEASED TO HELP CONTROL LITTER IN STATE

The Christie Administration announced the award of $20.8 million in Clean Communities grants to help municipalities and counties conduct litter cleanup efforts that help beautify New Jersey’s communities and roadsides. The DEP is awarding more than $18.4 million to eligible municipalities, and an additional $2.3 million is being awarded to all 21 counties. Cape May County is receiving $69,000. Meanwhile, Atlantic County will get $130,000 and Cumberland County will receive $188,000. Ocean City got the biggest award in Cape May County with $95,000. Locally, Vineland was the biggest winner with $133,000.
