MOM CHARGED WITH MANSLAUGHTER IN DAUGHTER’S DEATH

A 32 year-old Ventnor woman was charged with aggravated manslaughter in the death of her 7 month-old daughter on Jan. 3rd. The initial investigation determined that Lisa Scalia rolled over onto her daughter while the two were in bed together and she was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. Now the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office alleges that Scalia actually gave methadone to her daughter, Olaia Marie Majia, causing her death. Scalia is in the Atlantic County Jail on $100,000 bail.
