A new Miss America was crowned in Atlantic City. Betty Cantrell, of Georgia, is the newest woman to take home the crown. She receives a $50,000 scholarship for the victory and will be the face of the Miss America organization for the next year. Cantrell performed opera for his pageant talent. She hopes to eventually work on Broadway.
