MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE APPROVED IN ASSEMBLY

It was a major step forward for those working minimum wage in New Jersey. A vote was approved in the Assembly to move the minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $8.50 per hour. The lower amount is the smallest amount allow under federal law. Gov. Chris Christie has not said whether he would support the bill, citing that it might stunt job growth if business owners need to kick in more to pay their employees.
