On January 25, 2011 at 8:57 PM Police were dispatched to a residence on Goshen Road for the report of an attempted abduction. Upon their arrival, Ptlm. Steven Novsak and Cpl. Fran Fiore met the victim, a 17 year old female from Poplar Street in the Court House section of the Township. The victim informed officers that her former boyfriend, a 16 year old from the Millville area had forced his way into her residence and threatened her. During this time he coerced her outside and then escorted her away from her home. The victim was able to break free from her abductor and ran to a nearby residence and called police. The suspect then fled the area on foot. A piece of clothing from the suspect was found in the area and the Sheriff’s K9 unit was contacted and responded to search for the suspect. After a thorough search of the surrounding area Ptlm. James D’Alonzo encountered the suspect walking along Magnolia Drive. The suspect was taken into custody and charged with Kidnapping, Burglary, and Terroristic threats and lodged in the Juvenile Detention Center- Bridgeton. Det. Mark Higginbottom of the Major Crimes Unit assisted in this investigation.
