The New Jersey Senate will debate the “millionaire’s tax” this week and a floor vote is scheduled. The tax is being used by Democrats as a way to get senior’s a property tax rebate and to keep prescription drug costs down. Gov. Chris Christie said he wouldn’t support the tax because he made a promise of no new taxes. Democrats believe this is the only fair comprise. The initial millionaire’s tax expired before the end of the Gov. Jon Corzine administration and was not renewed.
