About one hundred people joined the 42nd annual march to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Atlantic City along the boulevard that bears his name. The march started at the Dr. M.L.K., Jr. School Complex on Marmora Avenue and proceeded for one mile to the Civil Rights Garden at Pacific Avenue. Organized by the Atlantic City Branch of the NAACP, participants included local officials, Atlantic County freeholders, and Atlantic City Mayor Don Guardian. Local leaders called on those in attendance to remember Dr. King’s legacy by serving the community and protesting in peace to achieve equality and oppose injustice.
