The Middle Township Animal Advisory Board and the Cape May County Animal Welfare Society are again collaborating on an initiative to collect gently used dog houses and distribute them to dogs who could use them. These structures provide appropriate shelter for dogs who regularly spend time outside. If you have a dog house that can be recycled to help another animal, please consider donating it. The Animal Welfare Society will accept donations of thermal igloos or other gently used dog houses between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sundays. Pickups of donated dog houses or igloos can be arranged by contacting Dawn Stimmel at Middle Township Hall via (609) 465-8732 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Middle Township Animal Control Officer Bill Candell will make the shelters available where needed.
