On December 21, 2010 Middle Township police received several 911 calls of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of SH47 and Dias Creek road. A Cape May County Fare Free Transportation bus, operated by Deborah McPherson, was traveling north on SH 47. A Silver ford Edge driven by JoAnne Morrison was on Dias Creek road. Ms. Morrison turned left onto SH47 in front of the bus, and was struck on the driver side by the bus. Cape May Court House volunteer fire company, along with Court House Rescue, and Medic 9 were called for entrapment. Ms. Morrison was extricated from the vehicle, and flown to Atlantic Care Medic Center in Atlantic City. There were two passengers on the bus that were not hurt. The driver of the Fare Free bus was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for minor injuries.
The crash is still under investigation; charges are pending at this time.
