A man from Cape May Court House was arrested early on Thanksgiving morning after his car collided with a Middle Township police vehicle and he continued driving. The Cape May County Herald reports that 22 year-old Thomas Salvesen was driving at a high rate of speed westbound on Avalon Blvd. at about 1 a.m. Thanksgiving morning. Salvesen’s vehicle struck the rear driver’s side of a traffic enforcement police car and then entered the Garden State Parkway. Middle Township Police arrested Salvesen without incident and charged him with fourth-degree assault by automobile, DWI and failure to maintain lane. He was taken to the police station, processed and released to another person.
