MIDDLE TWP. GOLFER RUNNER-UP IN STATE GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 100 best high school golfers in New Jersey competed Monday in the 12th annual Garden State Cup tournament and a Middle Township senior took second place. David Hicks shot a one-over-par 73 at the Blue Heron Pines Golf Club, second only to the Peddie School’s Kyle Sterbinsky who shot a 72 to win his third championship. Hicks shot 1-under par on the front nine and actually held a lead on Sterbinsky late in the round, but dropped two strokes on the 17th hole.
