According to a report in this week’s Middle Township Gazette, almost 40 percent of Middle Township is dedicated to open space and recreation. Officials on the township Planning Board, Environmental Commission and Recreation Advisory Committee are working on a plan to preserve that open space and expand opportunities for recreation. The public is invited to an open space and recreation plan meeting set for next Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Martin Luther King Community Center in Whitesboro at 7 p.m. A map of recreational facilities and results of a recent survey can be found at www.MiddleTownship.com.
