The Middle Township Committee voted 3-0 on a measure that could potentially save township residents $1 million on their energy bills in the coming year on electricity and gas; equating to an anticipated one and a half to two months worth of savings versus the residents current default rate offered through Atlantic City Electric. The vote to join an energy aggregation program came during the Monday, March 18th township committee meeting. NJ State Legislature enacted the program to assist deregulation of energy and to facilitate competition in the state. This is a State supported program that provides consumer protection as well as better pricing.
