The Middle Township Police Department is asking for help from the public, in reference to the investigation into the disappearance of a 78 yr old white male, named; EDWARD MARTIN, 5’8, 168lbs, that has Dementia, who apparently walked away from the Crest Haven Nursing Home, around 8PM, Friday, July 2, 2010.
He was last seen wearing a gray hat, khaki jacket and khaki pants. Mr. Martin has been a resident of the home since 2007, and gave no indication of where he may be headed. He does not own a vehicle, nor was he in possession of a cell phone.
Searches of the building and immediate area, by officers foot, went unfounded, along with searches that employed the use of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Units.
Additionally, members of the Court House Fire Department, were called out, and conducted a separate search using of their infra-red search cameras, capable of detecting human body heat, at night.
An air search by the Coast Guard also went unfounded, for the missing person.
