Lower Township Police have charged a 35 year old Middle Township man with hit and run, stalking, and other offenses following a motor vehicle accident in the Villas Wednesday evening. Shawn I. Petitt sent threatening text messages to an ex girlfriend and then struck her vehicle with his own. Three adults and two juveniles were in the car that was hit with no reported injuries. Pettit was taken to the Cape May County Jail.
