A Rio Grande man is facing various charges following a search of his residence and a local motel room resulted in discovery of drugs, and a weapon. 45-year old Abdul Spaulding was arrested after the Middle Township Police Major Crimes Unit, Street Crimes Unit, Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Cape May County SWAT Team executed a pair of court authorized search warrants on January 28. Spaulding is also charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children, two counts of Distribution of Controlled Dangerous Substances, one count of Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substances, and one count each of Certain Person not to have weapons and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Spaulding was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
All charges are accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless he is proven guilty.
