MIDDLE POLICE ARREST MAN ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE POLICE

A man was driving recklessly in an attempt to elude police before crashing on Route 9 on Sunday. Stone Harbor police asked Middle Township police to be on the lookout for the motorcycle, who was last seen driving west on Stone Harbor Blvd. Police followed the motorcycle but called the pursuit off when the man was driving too recklessly. After the crash, police arrived on the scene and arrested Robert J.Hupperich Jr., of Tyler Road in Dennisville. Hupperich was charged with eluding, a third degree crime. He was placed in Cape May County Corrections Center; bail was set at $35,000.
