They are small and furry, and wear black masks…and they’ve been spotted in Middle Township. Middle Township Police say they have experienced a number of increased calls to animal control regarding raccoons. Police say the calls have dealt with raccoons who have been spotted during the daytime acting “drunk” or looking if they are sick. Police say there are no confirmed cases of rabies at this point, but the behavior of the coons may be from distemper. Police are asking anyone in Middle Township who sees a raccoon who appears to be sick to call the police department, who will then contact animal control.
