A tax increase was approved on introduction in Middle Township. A new spending plan was proposed with a 2.7 cent tax hike. The township has experienced a $93 million lose in the ratable base and has to fork over nearly $204,000 more than last year for pension contributions. The $20.9 million budget is actually $1 million less than the previous year. Also, sewer rates are going up by 22 percent in the township. All non-union employees will be getting a two percent raise and no layoffs will take place.
