This year’s MidAtlantic fishing tournament began on Monday with 139 boats in competition. The five-day event features a tournament record purse of $2.81 million. The field of anglers fishes out of Cape May, New Jersey and Ocean City, Maryland. Sixty boats went out on Tuesday, while 127 boats fished on Monday. Ryan Carroll, of Dallas, Tx, weighed-in a 543-pound blue marlin on Monday to lead the category. On Tuesday Rob Kathery, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, weighed-in a blue marlin of 437 pounds. Boats in the competition can fish any three out of the five days of the tournament, but no more.
