On Thursday night, local viewers of ABC’s “The Taste” were rooting for Mia Chiarella, executive chef of Wildwood’s Gia Restaurant. The 27 year-old North Wildwood resident won the final spot available on one of the four teams headed by renowned chefs and food personalities. Chiarella shed tears of joy and relief as she was selected for Team Nigella Lawson. She is one of only 15 remaining contestants from over 100,000 applicants. To impress the judges, Mia prepared a burrata-stuffed chicken breast, that judge Anthonyn Bourdain said had a flavor of the Jersey Shore. “The Taste” airs at 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Mia Chiarella will continue in the competition next week.
