MAYS LANDING FAMILY DISPLACED BY GRILL FIRE

A fire in an outdoor grill caused extensive damage to a Mays Landing house early Sunday morning. Firefighters were called to the home of Jeffrey Perkin at 36 Chancellor Park at about 4:30 a.m. Sunday and brought the fire under control in about 30 minutes. Perkin, his wife and four children evacuated the home, which received severe fire and water damage. Homes on both sides of the fire scene received moderate exterior damage. Two minor injuries were treated at the scene by the Hamilton Township Rescue Squad.
