Lower Cape May Regional alumni Matt Szczur used his speed to score the winning run on a wild pitch for the Cubs on Wednesday. The Cubs trailed the Miami Marlins 4-2 in the bottom of the ninth, when Szczur got a pinch-hit walk to load the bases and advanced to third base after a sacrifice fly and another walk. He then cruised home with two outs on the wild pitch by Miami closer A.J. Ramos. Szczur is a utility player for the first-place Cubs, with a batting average of .302.
