Beach tag revenue figures were released by Margate City officials and they show a $26,000 increase over last year. An independent audit in June showed that over 3,000 beach tags were unaccounted for in 2011. Margate CFO Lisa McLaughlin told The Press of Atlantic City that new internal controls were established by the city to run the program. Salaries and expenses for the beach tag program were also reduced by more than $1,000.
