Despite frigid temperatures on Wednesday night, nearly 100 demonstrators marched on the Cumberland County Courthouse to protest the police killing of a Millville man. Jerame C. Reid, 36, was fatally shot by two Bridgeton police officers during a Dec. 30 traffic stop. The 0.7 mile march began at 6 p.m. where the shooting occurred, near South Avenue and Henry Street. Demonstrators carried signs, chanted and prayed during the peaceful protest. During the traffic stop officers Braheme Days and Roger Worley both fired their service weapons and are now on administrative leave. The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating whether the use of deadly force was justified.
