On Saturday morning Wildwood Crest Police responded to 911 calls about heavy smoke coming from a local residence. Sgt. Denise Holt arrived at 206 E. Aster Rd. and found the owner, Charles Meyers, unconscious and not moving. With the assistance of retired CMC Sheriffs Corporal Jack Maurer, Holt removed Meyers from the house and administered first aid. The fire was located in the living room and extinguished by the local fire company, with help from two police officers. Meyers was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center and is expected to make a full recovery.
