MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO MANSLAUGHTER IN CHILD’S DEATH

A caregiver faces up to seven years in jail in the death of a small child. Larry Atwell of Egg Harbor Township plead guilty to manslaughter. A one-year old died as a result of abusive head trauma. Sentencing will take place on Jan. 5. Atwell will be subject to the no early release act, meaning he will have to serve 85 percent of the term before becoming eligible for parole. The incident in question took place back in 2010.
