A New Jersey man who was living at a local church in Wildwood Crest has now been charged with stealing from the church that provided him room and board. 38 year old Jemel Goolsby was charged with theft and forgery after authorities learned that he allegedly stole and cashed checks from the Crest Community Church. Police received a complaint from the church last week about the checks that were missing. Goolsby obtained a job with the church after he served two prison sentences. Police allege that Goolsby wrote three checks to himself and cashed them; they totaled just over $900.
