MAN JUMPS TO HIS DEATH IN SOUTH JERSEY WATERWAY

A man jumped off a pier in Salem on Tuesday into a river below, and refused to get any help from authorities. Police in Salem say the man who jumped from the pier at the local port eventually drowned. Rescuers tried to throw the victim a rescue device, but he refused to grab on to it and went under the water. The man was 43 years old, from Salem, and the incident is considered a suicide.
