MAN CHARGED IN FLEEING FATAL CRASH SCENE

A Pleasantville man has been charged in a head-on collision that caused the death of another motorist. Carlos Fermin allegedly left the scene of the accident on Thursday, when the SUV he was driving veered into the path of a truck driven by 53 year-old Jose Matta of Pleasantville, who died of his injuries on Saturday. Fermin is charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident and other charges. He is currently in the Atlantic County Jail on $50,000 bail and could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
