Wildwood Police have arrested a 28 year old man on charges that he assaulted someone with a baseball bat Monday night. Police announced the arrest of Alberto Martinez, who’s last known address was in Wildwood, for assaulting a teenager from Edison, New Jersey with a baseball bat. The alleged assault took place Monday evening in the 3300 block of Atlantic Avenue. Police believe Martinez fled the scene of the assault on a bicycle. The victim was critically injured during the assault. Martinez was charged with aggravated assault and other related offenses, and taken to the Cape May County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
