Wildwood Crest Police arrested a 37 year-old man Sunday morning who was reported driving on the south end of the Wildwood Boardwalk. Police stopped the vehicle, driven by Robert Carter of Bridgeton, after he drove off the boardwalk using the pedestrian ramp at Cresse Avenue. Carter became irate during questioning, then attempted to flee the officers on foot. Two children were in the vehicle, ages 14 and 5. Carter was placed in the Cape May County Jail on $200,000 bail on various charges, including resisting arrest and aggravated assault.
