U.S. Senator John McCain says there needs to be debate on opening up sports betting. Reviewjournal.com had a story where McCain said that Congress should debate legalization of sports-betting for the nation as an estimated $3.8 billion in illegal bets were made related to Sunday’s big game. Congressman Frank LoBiondo said on Twitter he was happy to see the story and wants to work with McCain to advance the issue. LoBiondo has sponsored legislation in Congress to change the sports betting laws to allow New Jersey to begin taking sports bets at its casinos and horse parks.
