On Monday Cape May County beaches got a visit from state officials and representatives to begin assessing the damage from the weekend’s winter storm. Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno was joined by Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin and Congressman Frank LoBiondo, as they met with the mayors of Stone Harbor and North Wildwood. While inspecting the storm damage, Bob Martin of the DEP said they would work together with the Army Corps of Engineers to assess the entire coastline and work to get sand on the beach to protect local towns for both the short and long term. Guadagno said they were onsite to help local businesses and residents to “get all the resources you need to recover as quickly as possible, that are available to us.”
