The annual Loyalty Day Celebration in West Cape May will be held this year on May 1 at Wilbraham Park at 12 noon. Sponsored by the Peterson Little Post # 386 of the Veterans of Foreign War and the Ladies Auxiliary, Loyalty Day celebrates the American people and their patriotic courage.
“Loyalty Day was enacted in 1958 by President Eisenhower through an act of Congress” states Mayor Kaithern. “Since it’s passage, Loyalty Day has been a resounding success.” Each year it gains impetus across the land as millions of Americans participate in or witness the observances in every state in the nation. Celebrations are also held in Asia, Europe, Pacific areas, Panama Canal zone and Peurto Rico.
Invited to participate in the West Cape May Loyalty Day are local, county and state elected officials, local police and fire departments, school children, scouts, veterans, active service men and women and all citizens of this great nation.
The celebration will be held at the West Cape May Borough Hall in case of inclement weather.
