A Substance Abuse Symposium was held Monday night in Lower Township. Local and county officials spoke about the problems of heroin and other drug use to a crowd of over 100 residents at Lower Township Hall. Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor said that so far this year there have been 91 overdoses and 20 deaths from heroin in the county. Speakers at the forum stressed the importance of education, parental involvement and early intervention to help combat the drug problem.
