Lower Township Police have arrested a Villas man on charges that he assaulted police after being found in possession of illegal drugs. Police arrested John Labaco after they were called to a residence on Oregon Avenue last Saturday evening. Lobaco was sitting on a sofa, sitting in a catatonic state with a foil pipe and alleged crack cocaine on his lap. Police attempted to arrest Labaco, who fought with two officers. He was taken to the Cape May County Jail on $25,000 cash bail; the officers were not injured.
