The Lower Township Council will get its first look at the new 2011 municipal budget on Monday night. Township Manager Mike Voll released some details of the budget before the weekend. The new spending plan in Lower Township is expected to call for a tax increase of slightly less than two cents on the local tax rate. Voll says the Lower Township budget will be about $200,000 higher than last year’s spending plan. Many township expenses have gone up, including health insurance and payments into an employee retirement system. Council meets Monday at 7:00pm.
