The Lower Township Council voted in support of Cap 2.5. The idea was proposed by Gov. Chris Christie and it would cap property tax increases at 2.5 percent annually. Christie’s plan is to make it a constitutional cap, and would require voter support to overturn it. Deputy Mayor Kevin Lare said that the township supported the measure and the idea of a “tool kit” that would help township’s get their spending under control.
