Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation is expanding its reach including a mentoring program for teen girls, anti-drug school assemblies and Halloween events. Lower Township Manager Mike Voll commended Mitchell Plenn, superintendent of parks and recreation and James Ridgway, assistant superintendent of parks and recreation for their involvement with Mayor Michael Beck’s initiative against drugs in Lower Township. The recreation department is working with Lower Cape May Regional High School and the Richard M. Teitelman School to host two anti-drug assemblies Oct. 4 with motivational speaker Michael Sarich of “Teen Truth.”
