There’s a new chief of this town. Lower Township has announced the swearing-in ceremony of newly-appointed Police Chief William Mastriana Monday July 1 at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the Township Hall. Mastriana was formerly a Lower Township police captain and served the township for more than 20 years. Also to be sworn-in following promotions are Capt. Thomas Beeby, Lt. Patrick Greene, Sgt. Donald Vanaman and the most recent addition to the Lower Township Police Department, Patrol Officer Kaitlin Black who graduated from the Cape May County 35th Basic Course for Police Officers June 24.
