Due to the amount of foot traffic that will be along Beach Drive for the Fireworks Festival, the Lower Township Police will close down Beach Drive from Townbank Road to Sandman Blvd. in North Cape May, from 2:00 pm till the conclusion of the event which is expected to end around 11:00 pm.
Douglass Park will also be closed the entire day of July 3rd and re-open on July 4th.
Vendors and amusement rides will stay open till approximately 10:00 pm to allow traffic to filter out of the area.
Shore Drive and Beach Drive will be closed to all vehicular and bicycle traffic during this time.
There will be “No Parking” along Beach Drive from 2 pm until 11 pm on July 3rd, to allow for the set up and clean up of vendors along Beach Drive.
The last blocks of Franklin Avenue, Whittier Avenue and Washington Boulevard from Atlantic Avenue to the Beach, will also be posted “No Parking” from Saturday July 2, 2011 at 10 AM until Monday, July 4, 2010, to allow for the set up and breakdown of several amusement rides that will be set up on these three (3) blocks. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and towed. There will be ample parking throughout North Cape May.
Motorists are warned not to block driveways, fire hydrants or intersections. Handicap parking will be available on Holmes and Townbank Roads between Beach Drive and Atlantic Avenue.
