A new budget was approved in Lower Township with a 1.9 cent tax increase per $100 assessed valuation. Council was able to drop the initial proposed budget of 2.5 cents with money from the Lower Township MUA and other reductions. The budget calls for increasing the police force to 46 officers and deals with fixed cost increases. The vote was split along party lines with the Republicans approving the document 3-2.
