An ordinance could get a second look in Lower Township. A group of residents there put together a petition to repeal an ordinance on the outdoor wood burning furnaces. Council previously voted to ban the future installation of these devices, but grandfather in the ones that were already in existence. Deputy Mayor Kevin Lare told Coastal Broadcasting that council voted to send the issue back to the planning board for revisions. The township could make changes to the ordinance, rescind it, or allow voters the chance to vote on it. The petition is still going through the process of being certified.
