A Lower Township resident has been formally indicted by a grand jury on charges that he caused the death of a three year old child. The grand jury indicted Charles R. Kane Jr. in connection with the death of Elijah Ulbrich back on March 17th. Kane is 35 years old and is charged with first degree murder in connection with the boy’s death. Authorities believe Ulbrich was beaten in late February inside his North Wildwood home; he succumbed three weeks later. Kane was offered a plea bargain agreement to to accept a 20 year prison term, but he declined. If Kane is found guilty, he could face 30 years to life in prison.
