LOWER TOWNSHIP INTRODUCES 2.5 CENT INCREASE TO TAX RATE

Lower Township Council met Wednesday and a budget proposal was unveiled. The proposal calls for a 2.5 cent tax hike to the local tax rate. The increases are being attributed to an increase to insurance costs and less revenues coming in, which decreased the surplus. The proposed budget is still within the two percent cap and can still be changed before final approval.
