Voter turnout was expected to be low for Tuesday’s U.S. Senate primary in New Jersey and that’s exactly what happened. Only 13 per cent of registered voters went to the polls in Cape May County, with even lower totals in Atlantic and Cumberland Counties. Factors affecting the lack of voter support were summer vacations, lack of information on the candidates due to limited advertising and bad weather.
