A longtime sports writer for the Philadelphia Daily News whose career ended with child molestation charges is dead at the age of 79. Bill Conlin passed away in Key Largo Florida on Tuesday. Conlin followed the Philadelphia Phillies and other sports teams for decades for the Daily News before allegations surfaced three years ago that he molested seven children over a two decade period. Some of those alleged attacks took place in Margate.
