LONGPORT POLICE OFFICER KILLED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH

An off-duty Longport Police Officer died on Monday in an accident. Sgt. Charles “Tom” Adams was on his motorcycle on Harding Highway when a Chevrolet SUV that was making a left turn hit Adams in the intersection. Adams was thrown from his motorcycle and later died. The driver of the SUV was taken to an area hospital for treatment. Adams was on the police force for 21 years.
