Two local teachers won grant money. Atlantic City Electric sent $1000 checks to Woodbine and Middle Township schools for the utility’s Mini-Grant Program. The program is designed to support public and private classroom teachers with funds for new, innovative projects and extensions of currently funded projects within the schools. The Mini-Grant Program is now in its second year and offers up to $1000 for selected proposals that focus on energy related issues, such as electrical safety, wise energy use, local alternative energy sources, environmental impact, economic implications and energy-related science content. The funds can be used to purchase materials, conduct special lessons and implement special classroom projects not typically supported by school funding.
